Finally eight years in and I have a Blog! I look forward to updating this blog frequently with photos, stories, tips and ideas. So for my first post, here is a recap of how I got here!
In 2006 a young girl living in her home town took an elective photojournalism course while studying to be an interior designer. The rest is history. I transferred to Watkins College of Art & Design, moved to Nashville and began my new life as a photographer. I have honestly never looked back, it was the best professional decision I’ve made. In 2009 I graduated and moved back to my little home town, because I am a home body and I began Ellie Odom Photography!
In the past eight years I have photographed countless weddings, engagements, families, newborns and births. No day is ever the same and I get to meet new amazing friends every week.
While the camera rested in my camera bag over the past eight years I also married my best friend, Lucas. We built a house on his family cattle farm and of course the best, we had Walker Boyd Medlin in 2015. He is ALL boy, but is the sweetest, funniest little farm boy you will ever meet.
A few of my favorite things and places:
Our farm (we call it “The Compound”), Cookeville (THE best small town ever), Ralphs Donuts, The Market on The Square, Swan Creek Candles (Scent: Vanilla Pound Cake), Chacos, and TJ Maxx & Hobby Lobby (My Therapists).
Quote I strive to live by:
“Some photographers take reality…and impose the domination of their own thought and spirit. Others come before reality more tenderly and a photograph to them is an instrument of love and revelation.”
Thank you all for stopping by, I hope this blog is a source of beauty, happiness and inspiration for all that read it.
Love, Ellie
